Preparing for your session
Where do I start?
If you’ve not had Reiki attunement done before or any other energy healing before, it is recommended that you book in for a 1:1 session first, before booking for any group healing session. By doing so you’ll be able to have your own tailored experience with an initial reading, know what to expect in your subsequent sessions, followed by discussion of your connected experience.
Preparing for your session
Your Reiki Session takes place via Zoom, in the comforts of your own home. To learn more about how this works virtually or by distance, see below.
During the Reiki session your Reiki Master Practitioner will read and scan your current state and heal or attune you by channelling the Universal Reiki Healing Energy for you.

4 steps to get the most out of your Reiki session
Set up your space
It’s best to choose a quiet space (away from where you work ideally if you work from home), where you know you will not be disturbed for the duration of your session. We recommend that you lay down for maximum comfort but you may also choose to sit upright, completely up to you.
This is not required, but for maximum relaxation and results, it can help with creating a sacred space by dimming the lights or creating a darker space, lighting a scented candle, burning incense or using a calming essential oil.
Allow for 5-10 minutes of relaxation before the session to help you let go of what has happened so far during your day.
Remove metals
Remove all large pieces of jewellery before the session as it may interfere with the process as they are energy conductors. We want to have this session be as clean as possible and free of other forms of energy during your healing.
Come with intention
Prior to the session have a think about anything specific you would like to work on and come with a healing intention, an open mind and heart.
Some intentions could include:
Stress release
Calm anxiety
Improve sleep
Clarity & grounding
Balance brain & mental health
Emotional support
Cleanse and balance your energy system
Alignment or assisted discovery with your life purpose
Improve of strengthen immune system
Transforms negative thought patterns
Spiritual growth
Move through grief or loss
Enhance intuition and connectedness
Hydrate
Prepare yourself a glass of water ready for after your session and ensure that you are staying well hydrated for days after your session.
Results
What If I can’t prepare how I’d like to, due to my busy schedule?
Have no fear! We all know that life can get a bit hectic at times juggling multiple commitments at any one time. That doesn’t mean you should neglect filling your own cup in order to support the loved ones in your life.
Distant Reiki healing is based on the understanding that energy is not limited by time or space. Just as electromagnetic waves can travel across great distances, Reiki energy is believed to be able to transcend physical barriers and reach you where you are.
During a Distance Reiki session, your practitioner may use various techniques to connect with the recipient energetically. By focusing their intention on sending healing energy to the recipient, your practitioner will facilitate the flow of Reiki energy through your being.
Rest assured that the universal life force energy will still work the same way no matter where you are or what you are doing. As long as you are open to receiving your Reiki attunement from your Reiki Master, you’re bound to benefit from your session.
What to expect
Experiences of Reiki healing vary from person to person. Some experience physical sensations and others experience emotional and spiritual responses. No matter the experiences, all Reiki healing sessions are safe and non-invasive, leaving you in a positive state.
During
At the beginning of the session you will be guided through a visualisation meditation, coupled with breath work to take you to a place of enhanced peace, relaxation and calmness.
From here your Reiki practitioner will begin your scan to get a better understanding of your current state and if there are any blockages or overactive areas. From here you and your practitioner will set your intention, either verbally or within your mind, and your attunement and healing will begin.
Your Reiki practitioner may feel or see certain things in their mind's eye or sensations in their hands/body when scanning, attuning or healing certain areas of your body, which they may disclose after the session during your discussion if you are having a 1:1 session.
During the healing you may feel the following sensations:
Tingling in the body
Sense of floating on a cloud or water
Heavy limbs
Sinking or weighted body into the ground
Temperature fluctuations
Lightheadedness
Build up of emotion or overwhelm and release (through crying of tears)
Colour visualisation
Mental clarity
Spiritual clarity
Revelations and ah-ha moments
Again, all experiences are highly individual. You may or may not experience any of these listed here but trust and follow your intuition. Reiki healing is powerful and rest assured that your experience will work exactly as it should for what you need in that very moment.
After
At the end of the session you will be guided out of your energy journey through meditation and breath work. Your session will then be concluded by thanking the ‘Universal life force energy’ together with your practitioner for working exactly as it should.
Please ensure that you are staying well hydrated after your sessions as your body and mind may undergo a spiritual healing detox.
Reiki energy is highly intelligent. Your only job is to be open minded and intentionally choose to receive the universal healing energy for your highest good.
